Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand · monthly statistical releases · source releases 2026-09-14 · retained coverage Jan 2024 – Aug 2026. Calculations by TRCC. Values can be revised.
Visitors, accommodation guests and national border arrivals are different measures. Thai/foreign is the source split; nationality versus residence, occupancy coverage and revenue methodology remain unverified. Revenue is shown in million THB; occupancy change is in percentage points. Since-January totals cover visitors and revenue only: every month of both years must be complete and from one source release. Missing months withhold the comparison; occupancy is never summed. A zero prior total withholds percentage change. A province is not a city or island: Chonburi is not Pattaya and Surat Thani is not Samui. No provincial Russia series is available. Phuket Airport arrivals by nationality (a different measure, not provincial visitors) are shown separately below.

This is not a count of all visitors to Phuket province, not hotel guests, and not country of residence or flight origin. Do not compare it with the MoTS provincial visitor figures above.
Source: Phuket provincial data catalogue, dataset “Foreign passengers arriving at the airport, international only”, published by Phuket Airport Immigration Checkpoint (ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมืองท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ต). Publisher file update dates: 2026-01-13 (closed year), 2026-10-02 (current year, replaced in place). Source values as published; shares, ranks, changes, January-to-month totals and group sums are TRCC calculations.
Method stated by the publisher in the catalogue: the monthly sum of passengers on each actual arriving flight, by nationality. The figures therefore count passenger arrivals (unit: คน), not unique people. The publisher does not state how repeat arrivals or transit passengers are treated, and publishes no preliminary, revised or final status.
Nationality as recorded by immigration. The source does not define it. Some labels (unknown, stateless, refugee, UN) resemble travel-document categories, which suggests a document-based classification (TRCC interpretation, not stated by the source). The published title says “foreign passengers”, but every month includes a Thailand row; it is kept in the total and shown separately.
Changes compare the same month in two annual files of the same catalogue dataset: same publisher and method. A comparison is shown only where the same source label exists in both months. Labels are the source's own; one nationality published under several spellings (Palestine, Zimbabwe, Somalia) is kept per spelling and not ranked, never merged.
