TRCC and KMITL Signed MOU to Launch the Thailand-Russia Cocoa Project
On 9 April 2026, the Thai-Russian Chamber of Commerce (TRCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) to initiate the Thailand-Russia Cocoa Project and support the establishment of the Thailand-Russia Organic Cacao Research & Development Center.
The signing ceremony took place during the press conference dedicated to the launch of the project, which focuses on innovation, sustainability, agricultural research, and the development of organic cacao production and processing in Thailand.
The Thailand-Russia Cocoa Project aims to develop three centers for organic cocoa production and processing in Thailand, located in Chiang Mai, Chumphon, and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces. The project is intended to support the production of high-quality organic cocoa products for export to Russia, while strengthening cooperation between Thai agricultural expertise and Russian business demand.
The Russian side of the project is represented by FortAsia Company Ltd., a member of TRCC, and its Managing Director, Mr. Dmitry Tolpygo. The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the Chamber by Mr. Vitaly Kiselev, President of the Thai-Russian Chamber of Commerce.
This initiative reflects TRCC’s role in supporting practical business cooperation between Thailand and Russia, particularly in the areas of agriculture, food production, export development, innovation, and sustainable economic partnership.
The Thailand-Russia Cocoa Project demonstrates how cross-border cooperation can create new opportunities for Thai producers, Russian businesses, research institutions, and private-sector partners.
