Overview

Discover Russia through silk and design

“Silk Map of Russia” brings Nina Ruchkina’s scarf-paintings to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre as part of Russian Seasons in Thailand. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the country’s regions through textile design, bringing together regional landscapes, architecture and craft traditions on silk.

Works draw on subjects including Gzhel ceramics, Saint Basil’s Cathedral and the Buddhist Ivolginsky Datsan. Developed with artists, art historians and regional consultants, the designs are accompanied by descriptions explaining their imagery and cultural setting. The exhibition also includes “The Legend of the Scarf”, a short fantasy film created using artificial intelligence.

Ruchkina is the creator of the accessories brand Trendy Russians. The accompanying texts are by Anastasia Astrakhantseva. The exhibition is presented by the autonomous non-profit organisation Russian Seasons.

Visit the Curved Wall on BACC’s fifth floor from 17 to 29 November 2026, Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–20:00. BACC is closed on Mondays, including 23 November. See the official BACC listing for visitor updates.
