TRCC Seminar "Bridging Thailand and Russia"

On July 22, 2016 the TRCC Seminar "Bridging Thailand and Russia" was held in Royal Cliff Grand Hotel, Pattaya. Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation for Chonburi and Rayong provinces, Mrs. Panga Vathanakul and representative of Pattaya City Mayor, Mr. Thanet Supornsahasrungsi addressed welcome remarks to the participants.

In his opening remark, Charge d'affairs a.i. of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Vladimir Marchukov told about present state of the relations between the two countries: "Thailand remained our biggest trade partner in Southeast Asia. Last year the Russian-Thai bilateral trade was worth of $ 2.4 billion. Two-way investments are growing too. According to our estimate in 2015 total Russian investments into the Thai economy reached $ 500 million, while investments of the Thai companies in Russia exceeded the benchmark of $1 billion".

The also received special speakers from Russia, such as President of the NGO, Mr. Oleg Oleinik - representatives of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Ms. Dina Djimbaldorjieva– Representative from Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The President of Thai-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Sombat Thiratrakoolchai, Mr. Noppadon Khamsai, Managing Director of Thai Sturgeon Farm Co., Ltd., Ms. Aleksandra Agapitova, Development Director of Alpha Trade International Co., Ltd., First Senior Vice-President of Kasikornbank, Mr. Pattanapong Tansomboon, representative of Board of Investments of Thailand, Ms. Nathareekon Saesubak, Mr. Sanpech Supabowornsthian, President of Thai Hotels Association Eastern Chapteralso and Ms. Aekthida Vongkamhang, Director of European Affairs Division, Department of International Trade Promotion and Mr. Vitaly Kisselev, Vice President of TRCC, also took the floor and delivered their reports and presentations.

The Agreement on cooperation between the International Union of Ecologists, Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and Thai-Russian Chamber of Commerce was signed.

The event ended with the awarding ceremony of a number of Thai participants by diplomas of the International Union of Ecologists, Industrialists and Entrepreneurs for their contribution into development of cooperation between Russia and Thailand.

We cordially congratulate TRCC members on awarding with the Internationals decoration in sphere of business - International Award of Ecologists, Industrialists and Businessmen "Global Business Brand - 2016" and "Grand Person of the Year 2016" and also Dr. Sombat Thiratrakoolchai with the Order "For Contribution into the Science".

The visit has become one more brick into the solid foundation of good relations of the two States.
